Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer with a strong DevOps mindset to maintain, support, and scale our production systems. You will work closely with our IT team to bridge the gap between application development and cloud infrastructure while contributing to the implementation and optimization of our Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities
Application Development & Performance Tuning

• Maintain, optimize, and scale Java backend microservices and API services to ensure high availability and low latency.
• Perform JVM performance tuning, including memory profiling, garbage collection optimization, thread dump analysis, and complex database query optimization.

Cloud & Kubernetes Infrastructure

• Architect and refine Kubernetes (GKE) autoscaling strategies.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Helm, or Terraform.
• Collaborate closely with the IT team to improve cloud-native architecture and deployment strategies.

Observability & System Reliability

• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production issues using centralized log analysis and distributed tracing.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and system performance baselines to improve production stability.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support high-availability production systems.

Technical Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Java backend development experience using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, or Microservices Architecture.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on DevOps experience with Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, CI/CD Pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Helm, or Terraform).
• Strong proficiency in Java multithreading, concurrency, and JVM internals (memory profiling, garbage collection tuning, and thread dump analysis).
• Proven experience troubleshooting distributed systems, including performance optimization, OOM issues, and database query optimization.
• Experience working with Relational Databases and Redis.
• Strong Linux administration and command-line experience.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Strong understanding of distributed tracing, log analysis, and observability platforms (e.g., APM, ELK/EFK).

Soft Skills

• Strong sense of ownership with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Engineering, DevOps, QA, and business teams.
• Fluent English communication skills are required.
