USALCO, LLC is a major unit within the manufacturing network of a leading provider of aluminum-based component products used in water treatment, pulp and paper manufacturing, the making of catalysts for oil refining, the housing market and other sectors. JOB SUMMARY:

The individual in this role is responsible for continuously improving the automation and technology, while assuring compliance is achieved in all company associated policies. The position requires a motivated, detail oriented, and results driven team player who:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBITIES:

  1. Meeting all safety requirements of USALCO for the job functions being performed, and ensuring that reporting personnel and contractors under your supervision follow all OSHA and safety standards.
  1. Using a continuous improvement mindset to help increase safety, quality, profitability, efficiency and productivity through technology, personnel training and process improvement.
  1. Lead automation process improvements and maintenance activities.
  2. Providing leadership for automation upgrades and new installation projects.
  3. Modernization of logical control systems for plant facilities and processes to improve product quality and working conditions.
  4. Serve an active role in implementing SCADA and ERP integration.

Train and mentor junior engineers and plant personnel as needed.

  1. Work with local and remote teams to train and maintain control systems.
  2. Originating and maintaining design documents to successfully meet departmental and project requirements.
  3. Ensure all control project maintenance is preformed, including secured backed up.
  4. Ensure systems conform with the standards and associated documentation.
  5. Providing appropriate performance analysis and reports and justifications for projects and maintenance programs.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned in support of business goals and objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Must be proficient in the Design and program Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, and WinCC platforms.
  • Knowledge and understanding of web, mobile, API and database testing technologies.
  • Experience with SCADA/PLC systems such as WinCC SCADA, Ignition or VTScada.
  • Ability to effectively work with Microsoft Office Applications at a high-level proficiency
  • Understanding of process systems including batch and continuous.
  • Requires strong organizational and planning skills
  • Must be dependable, flexible and able to respond on short notice to satisfy requirements of customers.
  • Requires good interpersonal and communication skills, well written
  • Strong Analytical and Mathematical aptitude
  • Understand and support all current Good Manufacturing & Lean principles, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrates excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

EDUCATION:

  • A BS Degree Engineering, preferred in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Controls Engineering
  • Manufacturing, Chemical, Pharmaceutical or Food manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma, preferred
  • NSF and ISO processes with procedure and audit experience

  • Available for up to 25% Travel.
