Job Overview
- Salary Range: $55,000 per year
- Location: Lansing, MI
- Schedule: Regular workdays with occasional overnight travel, depending on the assigned territory
As a Custodian Area Manager, you will oversee and manage one or more of the following service areas for customers within your designated region: janitorial services, maintenance, exterior landscaping, or restaurant and restaurant equipment cleaning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage customer and vendor relationships within assigned accounts
- Conduct monthly or quarterly visits with customer district and regional management to ensure satisfaction
- Perform site visits, conduct audits, and submit reports as required
- Ensure buildings are properly supplied and equipped while responding to service requests within two hours
- Develop and maintain service delivery plans, coordinate vendors, and manage schedules
- Submit project timelines and updates to headquarters as required
- Provide backup support in emergency situations
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of management experience, preferably within janitorial, building maintenance, exterior services, or the restaurant industry
- Knowledge of compliance standards, including OSHA, state/federal regulations, and company policies
- Experience managing staffing levels, budgets, and crew performance
- Ability to analyze and manage profit and loss (P&L) statements to ensure budget adherence
- Strong project management skills with the ability to adjust and communicate changes effectively
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients to ensure contract compliance and service excellence
- Experience in full employee lifecycle management, including hiring, training, performance management, and terminations
- Background check and drug test required
