Role Overview
The Branch Manager leads the daily oversight, administration, and management of all operations at the Kansas City branch. This role provides leadership to branch staff to drive customer experience, sales growth, profitability, and disciplined inventory management. The Branch Manager owns the Profit and Loss performance for the branch and serves as the senior onsite leader responsible for operational execution, talent development, and key customer relationships. The ideal candidate is a results-driven distribution leader who can lead by example, execute with urgency, and build a high-performing branch culture.
Core Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and direct all operational activities for the branch.
Own the Profit and Loss statement for the area or areas managed, and provide continuous input to leadership on the branch Fiscal Year budget while monitoring adherence to budgetary objectives.
Prepare and implement objectives and plans that support branch and company strategies, including proposal coordination, key customer strategy planning, presentations, financial projections, and cross-market strategies.
Coordinate the development of new supply chain solutions, systems, technology, methods, and procedures to improve sales, profits, efficiency, automation, service, and quality within the market.
Improve the efficiency and scalability of branch layout, workflow, and equipment, and utilize warehouse management systems.
Ensure efficient inventory management, including forecasting, purchasing, and stocking of electrical products to meet customer demand and minimize excess inventory.
Provide leadership for the local inventory committee, oversee branch inventory levels and counts, and approve all inventory returns.
Make customer calls and establish and maintain high-level relationships with key customers and prospective accounts.
Monitor market trends, competitive product and pricing situations, and develop plans to counteract competitive factors affecting sales, profits, and market penetration.
Provide field feedback on customer satisfaction and on the performance of vendor programs and promotions, and act as a vendor alignment advisor.
Ensure all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, and other governmental agency requirements.
Build a culture of excellence, trust, and dedication, and prioritize talent development through coaching, feedback, and exposure.

Required Background
Minimum of a four-year business or trade degree, or equivalent experience.
Three or more years of prior management experience spanning operations, sales, or marketing (preferred).
Strong knowledge of distribution operations (preferred).
Demonstrated Profit and Loss ownership and branch or operational leadership experience.
Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and ERP software (SAP preferred).
Strong business insight, accountability, and the ability to plan, align, and organize.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
Compensation & Perks
Base salary $120,000 to $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
