Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (MySQL)

Job Location: 100% remote

About the Client:
The client specializes in developing open-source databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

Role Overview:
The new colleague will focus on automating infrastructure, script testing, and deployment testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the DevOps and release management lifecycle in collaboration with MySQL server engineering teams
• Mentor junior SDETs, particularly on large-scale distributed database systems
• Evaluate and improve MySQL products/features based on test plans
• Monitor, analyze, and log failures in automated test systems
• Improve automation testing systems and infrastructure
• Recommend tools and strategies to enhance testing processes
• Use scripting languages like Shell or Python to support automation

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong DevOps experience with MySQL Server
• Proficiency in Bash/Shell/Python scripting
• Hands-on experience with MySQL database deployment, automation, and backup scripting
• Familiarity with ETL testing
