About the job Senior Java Developer – Digital Aviation

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer driven by curiosity and innovation to new technologies and research to join our team.

In this project you will be part of the team that provide leading edge airspace control and security solutions, as well as digital solutions for Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and Digital Aviation.

This is a hybrid role with an expected presence in the Bucharest office (3 days per week).

Our client

A global leader in airspace management, our client pioneers innovative solutions that make aviation safer, smarter, and more sustainable. Their technologies empower air navigation service providers and airports to handle rising air traffic safely and efficiently.

Technologies used in the project: Java SE, Java FX, Juni, Build system: Maven or Gradl, SQL, Git

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of digital platforms for Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and Digital Aviation ecosystems;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and systems integration) to ensure seamless interoperability between airspace systems;
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the full lifecycle – from concept to deployment and maintenance;
  • Ensure system reliability, safety, and scalability through rigorous testing, validation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in Software Engineering with Java;
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology;
  • Good technical skills in both software development and software testing;
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills;
  • Self-reliance and good communication skills;
  • Previous experience working in Agile methodology;
  • Excellent documentation skills;
  • Fluent and proficient in English;
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to a SAFe product management practices & frameworks;
  • Previous experience developing applications with Java FX;
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Podman) & container orchestration solutions (Kubernetes);
  • Experience with tools such as Jira or Confluence.
