Role description:

The Project Controller is responsible for providing financial oversight and support for strategic projects across the organization. The role ensures robust financial planning, business case development, project performance monitoring, and post-implementation benefit tracking. Acting as a key business partner to project teams and management, the Project Controller supports informed decision-making and helps maximize project value while mitigating financial risks.

Key Responsibilities: 
Project Financial Management
  • Develop and maintain financial analyses and business cases for strategic projects.
  • Review, challenge, and validate assumptions used in project business cases.
  • Perform sensitivity analyses to assess project profitability and risk exposure.
  • Identify financial risks and work with project teams to develop mitigation plans.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to project managers and cross-functional project teams.
Monitoring and Reporting
  • Monitor and update project business cases on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze actual versus planned financial performance and explain variances.
  • Participate in regular project review meetings and provide financial insights.
  • Ensure project-related financial impacts are reflected in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare management reports and presentations related to project performance.
Governance and Control
  • Establish and maintain post-implementation review processes to validate the realization of projected benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and governance standards.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing relevant financial information and documentation.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of project financial data.
Business Partnering
  • Collaborate closely with PMO, Project Managers, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.
  • Support decision-making through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Provide backup support within the Commercial Finance team as required.
Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional finance qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Controlling, FP&A, or a similar finance role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in business case development, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Exposure to project controlling or project finance is preferred.
