WAREHOUSE STOREMAN
Report to: Sales Manager
Division: Lubricant
This position is based at Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
The purpose of a storeman is to receive stocks, maintain appropriate stock levels and dispatch stocks in a timely manner without causing hindrance to operations. Storeman plays a crucial role to highlight stock levels and ensure that healthy stock levels are maintained at all times to support the business.
Key Responsibilities and Duties (Activities / Tasks)
- Ensure that stock is dispatched in a timely manner to the front counter as well as customers coming on site.
- Regularly track goods in transit and relay any delays with the internal sales team or customers.
- Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained for fast moving lines.
- Communicate out of stock with management to ensure that stock is supplied in a timely manner before it runs low.
- Dispatch of stock items should only be released through proper documentation at all times.
- Procedures must be followed as per company policy so that good working relationship with co-workers and suppliers are maintained.
- Orders are correctly and promptly placed with our suppliers and to be followed up continuously until same are received.
- Alternative options are sorted if suppliers are unable to provide the required items to avoid unnecessary internal disputes.
- An accurate record of all stock in and out are kept and maintained to avoid audit queries and impromptu stock-takes.
- The storeroom is to be kept clean and tide and in a safe work condition at all times.
- You are well versed in all product knowledge of the stock that is maintained in the storeroom.
- Other duties assigned by your superior are carried out as and when required.
Indicators (Results / Outcomes)
-Must ensure that stock levels are maintained as per Dealership requirements at all times.
-Ensure that warehouse is kept clean and merchandise does not get contaminated in any way. Highlight any potential risk of stock being damaged to management for quick solution.
-Ensure that stock is supplied internally in a timely manner without causing any hindrance to operations.
-Quality standards need to be practised whilst dispatching stocks.
-Daily check on fast moving lines to ensure adequate stock and ordering is done in a timely manner.
-Aged stock level should maintained.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- This job description is current at the date shown, but in consultation with you, it is liable to variation by management to reflect or anticipate changes in or to the job. It is expected the post-holder will when required undertake other duties equal with the post and salary grading if required subject to any reasonable adjustments as per organizational needs. It is set for automatic review after every 12 months.
