About the job (B) Construction Manager

Objectives:

Construction Manager (CM) will be responsible for the day-to-day on site construction activities,

in order to complete projects on time, with proper quality, without injury and within budget.



Responsibilities:

➢ To understand project schedule and requirement in order to perform overall planning, coordination, management and overseeing the project and site activities to meet time and

quality targets. ➢ Coordinate activities of site personnel to ensure project progresses based on

specifications (Quality), schedule (Time) and in accordance with safety protocol (Safety),

within budget. ➢ Attending external and internal meeting o Chair coordination meeting and ensure meeting minutes is captured. o Attending schedule meeting with client and work closely with PM on project schedule o Update the project progress and status to PM frequently ➢ Plan and manage off-site and on-site installation activities o To lead site supervisor, safety supervisor and site engineer regarding site works

standards so that installation activities are done correctly and minimizing rectification

works o Manages overall resources – manpower, skills, spare parts and tools. Any additional

resources / manpower required at site must escalate to PM. o Liaise with the clients, consultants and sub-contractors to ensure smooth site

implementation and operation of the project o Verify the certification of progress claims that are submitted by the sub-contractors ➢ Identify problems at project sites and provide technical support and recommendation to

resolve the problem ➢ Strictly ensure zero failures in achieving the targeted schedules committed. Update to management if encountering problem as early as possible. ➢ Coach, mentor, and develop site personnel, including, providing direction to the

employees in accordance to project’s objective and target and provide employee

performance feedback. ➢ Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among team members and being supportive and

working effectively together to enable each employee to succeed.

Requirements:

o Diploma/Degree (Engineering or Construction Management) in the same discipline and

above o Experience working in managerial role will be an advantage.


o At least 5 years experience in project supervision and site installation. o Involved in at least 3 fast track project.


o Possess site experience / exposure o Proficient in Microsoft Word and excel (intermediate level)


o Be able to work flexible hours; work with tight schedules o Strong commitment and passion in delivering results o Able to liaise effectively with client, authorities, sub-contractors and team of consultants.
