Position Summary:

As the Nursing Director for Emergency Services, you will be the first line manager designated for this specific nursing area, its patient population, and assigned staff. You will have 24-hour responsibility for the unit's activity. Your role will involve planning, coordinating, and directing fiscal, personnel, and patient care activities to ensure that the standards of care and standards of practice are met, tailored to the patient care needs and age of the patient in a cost-effective manner. You will also be responsible for integrating the nursing area(s) into the overall functioning of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: An Associate's Degree in Nursing is required, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Certifications/License: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required within 6 months of employment. You must also hold a current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or a compact state license.
  • Minimum Work Experience: A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • Required Skills: We are looking for a professional with critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience in IVC (Involuntary Commitment) and behavioral health is a plus.
