About the job Junior Care Assistant
We are looking for a Junior Care Worker who will be responsible for providing support and care to individuals who may need assistance due to age, disability, illness, or other circumstances.
Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care: This includes tasks such as assisting with washing, dressing, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
- Administering medication: Depending on the level of training and qualifications, care workers may be responsible for administering medication to clients.
- Supporting clients with their physical and emotional needs: This includes assisting with mobility and providing emotional support and companionship to clients.
- Assisting with meals: Care workers may be responsible for preparing and serving meals, and supporting clients with eating and drinking.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment: Care workers are responsible for ensuring that the care setting is clean, safe and well-maintained and that all necessary equipment is in good working order.
- Recording and reporting: Care workers are required to keep accurate and up-to-date records of client care, and to report any concerns or issues to their supervisor or manager.
- Working with other healthcare professionals: Care workers may work alongside other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and doctors, to provide coordinated care to clients.
- Attending training and development sessions: Care workers are expected to attend regular training and development sessions to maintain and enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Adhering to policies and procedures: Care workers must comply with all relevant policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection.
- Upholding ethical standards: Care workers must act with professionalism, integrity and respect at all times, and uphold the ethical standards of their profession.
Skills:
- A care worker should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion, patience, and a willingness to help others.
- A caring nature and the ability to work well under pressure are also essential.
Nice to have (not mandatory):
- Qualifications, such as an NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience.
- A valid driver's license or access to a car.
