Job Summary
The Project Director is responsible for the strategic leadership and execution of major oil & gas projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role oversees multiple project teams, manages stakeholder relationships, and ensures alignment with corporate objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale oil & gas projects (upstream, midstream, or downstream).
- Define project scope, objectives, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with senior management.
- Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
- Manage project risks, issues, and change requests, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams (engineering, procurement, construction, and contractors) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, investors, and joint venture partners to maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Monitor project financials, ensuring cost control and profitability.
- Provide high-level reporting to executives on project progress, challenges, and KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, or related field); MBA or PMP preferred.
- 15+ years of project management experience in oil & gas, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing mega-projects ($100M+ budgets).
- Strong knowledge of industry standards (API, ISO, ASME) and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
