Material Planner (Joinery)

 Job Description:

  1. Material Procurement and Coordination: Youll collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of joinery materials such as wood, laminates, hardware, and finishing products. Your goal is to maintain optimal stock levels while avoiding shortages or excess inventory.
  2. Inventory Optimization: You will manage joinery material inventory efficiently, considering factors like lead times, production schedules, and project requirements. This involves tracking usage patterns and adjusting stock levels accordingly.
  3. Project-Specific Planning: Each joinery project has unique material needs. You'll create detailed material call-off schedules based on project timelines, ensuring that materials arrive just when they're needed for fabrication and installation.
  4. Quality Assurance: As a Material Planner, you will verify the quality and specifications of joinery materials received from suppliers. This includes conducting inspections and addressing any discrepancies promptly.
  5. Collaboration with Production Teams: Effective communication with production teams (carpenters, installers, etc.) is crucial. Youll coordinate material availability to align with project milestones.
  6. Supplier Relationship Management: Building strong relationships with joinery material suppliers is essential. Youll evaluate supplier performance, negotiate terms, and address any issues that may arise.
