JOB PURPOSE
The Utilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shift operations, maintenance, and repair of all utility systems, including water, electrical, heating, cooling, and effluent treatment. This role is supervisory, to ensures that all utility systems are functioning efficiently and effectively to support the overall operations of the facility. To lead operations of all utilities machines, perform first line maintenance, documentations, diagnosis and trouble shooting. Perform energy and water consumption measurements and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operations of all utility systems to ensure their efficiency and reliability.
- Monitor and report utilities distribution and consumptions.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all utility systems.
- Conduct and report inspections, according to the schedules.
- Supervise maintenance activities on utility assets and systems.
- Assign tasks and monitor the performance of the team to ensure high standards of work.
- Coordinate operational and maintenance trainings for utilities personnel.
- Coordinate safety trainings and ensure safety compliances.
- Maintain offline and online records of utilities usages, operational records, maintenance activities, and material usages.
- Implement and sustain emergency preparedness plans for utilities.
- Ensure prompt and effective response to utility emergencies.
- Carry out routine inspections required for compliances with standards, such as HACCP, Machine Process Safety, etc.
EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- NABTEB, WAEC Technical, OND in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in production and maintenance roles, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Good knowledge and experience of manufacturing industry safety standards; especially those related to utilities operations.
- Experience in collating and reporting maintenance data.
- Experience of focused improvement maintenance (FIM) planning and execution.
- Strong understanding of utilities plants processes.
- Good experience of preventive maintenance and engineering systems.
- Proficiency in use of SAP PM, or other CMMS, and Microsoft Office.
