JOB PURPOSE

The Production Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to supervise the maintenance team, to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance of all equipment and machines on the production line, as well as in all of production department. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, troubleshooting equipment failures, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximum production assets availabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all production equipment and machines.
  • Conduct and report inspections, according to the schedules.
  • Supervise maintenance activities on all production equipment and line machines.
  • Assign tasks and monitor the performance of the team to ensure high standards of work.
  • Coordinate maintenance trainings for the maintenance personnel.
  • Coordinate safety trainings and ensure safety compliances.
  • Implement and sustain emergency preparedness plans for production areas.
  • Ensure prompt and effective response to machine failures/breakdowns.
  • Carry out routine inspections required for compliances with standards, such as HACCP, Process Machine Safety, OH&S, Quality Assurance, etc.
  • Allocate human, material and service resources, adequately, for OTIF execution of maintenance plans.
  • Coordinate improvement teams to identify and implement performance improvements actions.
  • Coordinate continuous maintenance sustainability and improvement systems, such as Total Productive Management (TPM).
  • Coordinate training and development of team members and support coaching them, to improve their skills, performance, and productivity.
  • Report on maintenance performance indicators periodically (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.,), as determined necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams and other departments, for optimal synergy.

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  • NABTEB, WAEC Technical, OND in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in production and maintenance roles, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • Good knowledge and experience of manufacturing industry safety standards.
  • Experience in collating and reporting maintenance data.
  • Experience in leading maintenance and machine availability improvement teams.
  • Good experience of preventive maintenance and engineering systems.
  • Proficiency in use of SAP PM, or other CMMS, and Microsoft Office.
