Test Engineer (Project Coordination) – Barcelona, Spain

Job Summary

We are seeking a Test Engineer with Project Coordination responsibilities to join our automotive testing team in Barcelona. This hybrid role combines hands-on vehicle/system testing with project support activities. You will work closely with the Project Manager (PM) to ensure high-quality test execution, smooth project delivery, and effective communication across international stakeholders.

This position offers strong growth potential toward a Project Manager role and exposure to European-wide automotive testing projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Testing Execution

  • Perform vehicle-level and system-level testing (e.g., ADAS, IVI, functional testing) according to defined test plans

  • Record test data, observations, and produce clear, structured test reports

  • Track, reproduce, and support initial analysis of issues (bugs)

  • Ensure test quality and compliance with project requirements

  • Support the Project Manager in tracking project timelines and task execution

  • Monitor progress and proactively identify risks (timeline, resources, test conditions)

  • Step in for basic coordination responsibilities when the PM is not onsite

  • Help ensure smooth execution of daily project activities

  • Communicate with clients regarding testing progress, issues, and feedback

  • Coordinate vehicles, equipment, test routes, and personnel

  • Prepare daily/weekly reports and meeting minutes

  • Act as a communication bridge between local teams and international stakeholders

  • Organize and maintain test logs, datasets, and related documentation

  • Ensure full traceability and completeness of test records

  • Support continuous improvement of testing processes and templates

  • Handle unexpected issues during testing (vehicle, equipment, environment)

  • Adjust test plans or escalate issues when necessary

  • Act as on-site coordinator in urgent situations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Automotive Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Computer Science, or related fields

  • Experience in automotive testing is preferred (strong graduates are also welcome)

  • Valid driver's license with practical driving experience

  • Familiarity with testing processes and methodologies

  • Ability to independently create test reports

  • Strong organizational, communication, and execution skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, on-site environment

Languages

  • Fluent English (required) – working language for international communication

  • Fluent Chinese (required) – for coordination with internal/global teams

  • Spanish (strong plus) – for local communication and operations in Barcelona

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ADAS, IVI, or cockpit testing

  • Familiarity with CAN tools and log analysis (e.g., CANoe)

  • Experience in European road testing

  • Previous experience in project coordination or team leadership

  • Additional languages are a plus
