A. PROFILE
Role Title: Trade Marketing Specialist

B. CONTEXT
Purpose: The Trade Marketing Specialist is responsible for executing indoor and outdoor merchandising, ensuring maximum visibility and optimal placement of POSM materials on the ground and with within dealer/distributor outlets to attract customers and drive revenue. This position also oversees branding vendors, conducts market research on competitor activities and supports dealer engagement activities.
Context: This Department is responsible for executing and implementing consumer business strategy and building brand affinity and connect in order to achieve growth in customer market share and revenue market share; through focus on the various business and distribution channels and customer experience.
The Trade Marketing division drives brand awareness and visibility of U9 products and services in the market and plays a key role in helping our dealer network communicate and market U9 products to the customer.
This position is only open for Myanmar Nationals.
C. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
POSM Visibility and Quality
- Visit dealer stores to ensure POSMs are arranged optimally to maximum visibility from street level to dealer store
- Inspect street branding materials (e.g., vinyl & PVC board), indoor branding materials (e.g., poster, stickers) and outdoor branding materials (e.g., flat board) to ensure display materials are up to date
- Advise key outlets on branding display and POSM visibility to help meet sales targets
- Continuously review and improve quality of branding materials to ensure adherence to U9 branding guidelines
Market Research and Reporting
- Conduct regular market visits to:
- monitor competitor activities and current promotions
- assess stock availability of Point of Sales Materials (POSM)
- evaluate visibility and market coverage of U9 products
- Prepare daily reports to trade manager on vendor team activities and staff attendance
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on trade marketing insights to head office team and management
Vendor Management
- Monitor POSM produced by vendors for quality and quantity control, ensure that all materials are in line with OM branding guidelines
- Lead a team of ground distributor merchandisers and agencies to execute POSM branding strategy at all outlets carrying OM products/services
- Oversee attendance reports and day-to-day activities plan of vendor staff
Dealer Engagement and Support
- Monitor stock movement within dealer stores, recommend promotions or special deals on slow moving or near expiry products or promotions
- Develop new methods and ideas to reach target audience and improve brand perception
- Support trade marketing planning and rolling out campaigns to increase demand among distributors and retailers
- Conduct field visits and training to improve dealer engagement and customer service levels
- Support CSR team in community engagement efforts and CSR activities
- Coordinate with government bodies such as city development committees for compliance purposes
D. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Advertising awareness: Brand equity index bard on 3rd party survey results
- Visibility: Maximum outdoor visibility and quality of POSM
- Internal/External Alignment: Accurate and timely coordination between vendors, finance, procurement and regions for permanent and temporary outdoor visibility campaigns
E. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS & DECISION MAKING
Interacts with:
Internal: Sales team, Central Trade marketing team, Finance Teams, Facilities Teams
External: Dealers, distributors, key outlets, customers, vendors and government officers
Decision Making
Decisions on trade marketing materials and placements for visibility
F. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge
- 3 – 5 years work experience in a trade marketing position
- Demonstrated experience implementing operational trade marketing campaigns, working with outlets on POSM display and vendors on producing branding materials
- Experience with distribution logistics, specifically monitoring the ordering and movement of stock from warehouse to stores
- Experience supervising and coaching a team to deliver on day-to-day plans
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, assertive and goal-oriented attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Basic understanding of digital technology
Minimum Entry Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in communications, marketing or relevant field from a recognized university
- Sufficient physical health to walk around outside for periods of time
- Ability to travel when necessary to visit regional field teams and locations
- Intermediate level Business English (verbal and written)
- Ability to communicate effectively in local language (both verbal and written)
