B. CONTEXT

Purpose: To ensure stable, secure, and high-performing HRIS platforms and their integration with core enterprise systems. The role primarily focuses on HR systems planning, operation, and enhancement, while providing supporting assistance to other enterprise systems (SAP, RA, DCH, CVM, FMS, SharePoint, DMS) under ESS governance.

Context: The ESS Senior Engineer (HRIS-Focused) plays a hybrid technical–consultative role, acting as the primary HRIS system owner and a supporting contributor to broader ESS operations. The role collaborates closely with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure HR processes, data flows, and integrations align with business and compliance requirements.

C. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
A. Primary Accountability – HRIS (OWNERSHIP)
  • Own end-to-end HRIS operations including design, implementation, enhancement, and daily support.
  • Manage HRIS integrations with SAP and other enterprise platforms.
  • Work closely with HR teams on process improvements, automation, and reporting.
  • Ensure HR data accuracy, security, and compliance with audit requirements.
  • Lead HRIS upgrades, enhancements, and vendor coordination.
  • Provide supporting assistance in SAP (FICO / integration touchpoints) relevant to HR processes.
  • Assist in data validation and reconciliation between HRIS and SAP.
  • Support ESS operations related to RA, DCH, CVM, and other systems when HR data or interfaces are involved.
  • Participate in cross-system incident root cause analysis as a contributor, not owner.
  • Participate in ESS system reconciliations (RA, DCH, CVM) when HRIS-related data is involved.
  • Support validation and troubleshooting of interfaces between HRIS and other enterprise systems.
  • Support and maintain existing interfaces (API, PI/PO, CPI, ETL) related to HRIS.
  • Coordinate with integration or platform owners for new designs.
  • Assist in testing and validation of cross-system integrations.
  • Act as single point of contact (SPOC) for HRIS incidents, changes, and improvements.
B. Secondary Accountability – Enterprise Systems (SUPPORTING)
  • Provide supporting assistance in SAP (FICO / integration touchpoints) relevant to HR processes.
  • Assist in data validation and reconciliation between HRIS and SAP.
  • Support ESS operations related to RA, DCH, CVM, and other systems when HR data or interfaces are involved.

D. Governance, Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
  • Maintain HRIS technical documentation and SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security and audit policies for HRIS scope.
  • Provide basic knowledge transfer and user awareness sessions for HR stakeholders.

E. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS & DECISION MAKING

Interacts with:

External: HRIS vendors, SAP vendor, External Consultants, External Auditor, Compliance Team

Decision Making

  • Makes day-to-day operational and technical decisions related to HRIS configurations, enhancements, and incident resolution.
  • Provides technical recommendations for HRIS integrations, system improvements, and performance optimization.
  • Participates in cross-system technical discussions and provides input for ESS-wide initiatives.
  • Escalates major architectural changes, high-risk issues, or enterprise-level decisions to the ESS Planning & Operations Manager for approval.

F. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in HRIS or enterprise system implementation and support, preferably in a telecom or large enterprise environment.
  • Strong experience in HRIS operations, including system configuration, enhancements, integrations, and user support.
  • Working knowledge of SAP (FICO / HCM touchpoints, integration flows) and enterprise data exchange.
  • Familiarity with system integrations (APIs, middleware, ETL) related to HRIS and SAP.
  • Exposure to audit, compliance, and access control in enterprise systems.
  • Experience supporting multi-vendor environments and coordinating with external consultants.


Minimum Entry Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • HRIS or ERP-related certifications (SAP HCM / SuccessFactors / Workday / Oracle HCM or equivalent) are preferred.
  • SAP certification or ITIL certification is an added advantage.
