A. PROFILE

B. CONTEXT

Purpose: The Corporate Communications Senior Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategic communication initiatives that enhance U9s reputation, support business objectives, and ensure transparent stakeholder engagement. This position requires a strategic communicator who can operate effectively whilst maintaining strict adherence to governance protocols and regulatory requirements.

Context: The Corporate Communications Department oversees all public relations, media and external partner relations, internal communications and Corporate Social Responsibility programs to establish and raise the Company reputation in the minds of external stakeholders, customers and employees to uphold the brand and public image. This department manages U9s brand visibility through meaningful corporate communications strategies and implements CSR initiatives to build social capital, meaningful partnerships and long-term community relationships.

C. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Communications

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with corporate objectives and stakeholder expectations
  • Support Corporate Communications Senior Manager in managing the company's reputation across Myanmar
  • Create compelling content for various channels including press releases, executive speeches, internal communications, and digital platforms
  • Monitor media landscape and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks for proactive communication

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Manage relationships with key media contacts, industry analysts, and telecommunications sector stakeholders
  • Coordinate stakeholder communication activities including investor relations support, regulatory engagement, and community outreach
  • Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and presentations for executive leadership and board members
  • Support crisis communication preparedness and response protocols

Content Development & Management

  • Write, edit, and produce high-quality communications materials including corporate announcements, thought leadership articles, and internal newsletters
  • Manage corporate website content, social media channels, and digital communication platforms
  • Ensure brand consistency and messaging alignment across all communication touchpoints
  • Develop multimedia content including video scripts, infographics, and visual storytelling materials

Governance & Compliance

  • Maintain proper documentation of all corporate communications activities and approvals
  • Support transparent disclosure practices in alignment with corporate governance standards
  • Coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams on sensitive communications matters

Media Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media and business journalists
  • Coordinate media interviews, press conferences and media events
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare regular reports on sentiment and key themes
  • Respond to media enquiries in alignment with approved messaging and protocols

Internal Communications

  • Support internal communication initiatives that promote employee engagement and organisational culture
  • Coordinate executive communications including Shareholders, CEO messages and leadership updates
  • Develop communication materials for organisational change initiatives and P&C programmes
  • Facilitate two-way communication channels between leadership and employees

D. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Overall media coverage – PR coverage in various publications and media outlets
    • Media outreach – quantity and performance of press releases and pitches
    • Brand sentiment – related to competitive standing, product quality, value or customer service
    • Awareness – increased awareness among prospective customers and partners

    E. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS & DECISION MAKING

    Interacts with:
    Internal: Events Team, Media Relations Team, Social Media Team, Procurement, Finance, internal business teams
    External: PR Agencies, Media Monitoring Agencies, Merchandising Agencies, Creative / Design agencies

    Decision Making

    Decisions related to media relations and content management to be in line with Corporate Communications Strategy.

    F. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge

    • Bachelors degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
    • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, preferably within telecommunications, technology, or regulated industries
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans
    • Proven track record of media relations and stakeholder engagement
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages an advantage)
    • Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and regulatory compliance requirements
    • Experience working across multiple markets or jurisdictions

    Minimum Entry Qualifications

    • Prefer to have Prior experience in telecommunications sector (exposure to Telcom operators)
    • Understanding of Southeast Asian media landscape and business environment
    • Experience in crisis communications and issues management
    • Professional certifications in communications, public relations, or related fields
    • Familiarity with Myanmar regulatory environments
