A. PROFILE

Role Title: Finance Automation Manager
Reporting to: Finance Digital Transformation & System Control Senior Manager

B. CONTEXT

Purpose: To lead the implementation and operationalization of all new finance-related systems and tools by managing end-to-end project lifecycles—including requirement gathering, system design, stakeholder alignment, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
Context: The Financial System department supports all SAP modules used by functions under CFO and coordinates with other owners of ERP, BSS and OSS applications to ensure all SAP user requirements are met. It also maintains the system access control to ensure proper compliance of internal control. It is responsible for data integrity for all uploaded and downloaded information for reporting and analysis purposes. Additionally, the Financial System department is responsible for creating and operationalizing end to end finance/supply chain processes for relevant products and promotions launched by the commercial team.

Financial System department leads the digitalization projects of the Finance team and spearheads the transformation & automation of Finance related processes

C. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Formulate, document and operationalize end to end business processes for new business models and new products and promotions

  • Represents Finance in the implementation of new business models, new products and promotions
  • Responsible for coordinating across all impacted areas in Finance and ensuring that all concerns of impacted areas are addressed
  • Designs and formulates the business process for all impacted business areas based on industry best practices
  • Operationalizes the aligned business process by closely working with the impacted teams during the first few months after go-live

Automate and digitalize vital business processes that are currently being completed manually

  • Lead the transformation and automation of vital Finance business processes via digitalization. Results must improve company sales/revenue, increase company cash or reduce company costs.
  • Responsibilities include overall project management, leading the gathering of business requirements, functional design review, leading end to end integration and non-negative testing, leading user acceptance testing and business SPOC for cutover, go-live activities and management reporting
  • Accountable for resolving any system and process issues related to process that was automated and digitalized

Fully document and optimize current Finance business processes

  • Ensure that all vital business processes across all areas of Finance are fully documented and signed off
  • For manual processes that are not yet in the immediate automation list, ensure that manual processes are optimized with least amount of manual effort as possible

Internal Control Monitoring and Handling Day to Day Operation

  • Responsible to ensure that proper internal control procedures for Finance areas and IT general controls are followed based on the controls for respective areas to cover the risk defined by U9 to ensure that clean audit report can be submitted to U9
  • Daily operations as well as daily/weekly/monthly reports are handled to ensure that there is no business issues arise from delay

D. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Successful automation and optimization of business processes with minimal disruption to on-going business operations. Automated processes should either increase revenue, reduce cost or produce additional cash for OML
  • All vital Finance business processes (whether manual or automated) should be fully documented
  • Business process operationalized for new business model/product line should be available from day 1 of product launch and no revenue should be lost because of inefficient process
  • Clean Audit Report for ICOFR

Decision Making

Major decisions related to the implementation of digitalization projects. Operationalization of new systems and automated processes will also be source of major decisions for the role.

F. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge

  • At least 3-5 years experienced in process formulation, operationalization and optimization
  • At least 3 successful process automation and process digitalization projects
  • At least 3 years experience with ERP systems (project implementation and support) and related business systems (OSS, BSS, Mobile Money, Source to Contract, Core bank systems)
  • Knowledge of vital finance related business processes (source to settle, supply chain, billing)
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, finance forecasting and reporting process
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to explain finance business processes with ease
  • Prior telecom experience is desirable
  • Advanced Excel and process documentation skills highly desirable (PowerPoint, Word)
  • Must have strong personality and can deliver under pressure
  • Can converse well in English
  • Can accomplish tasks with minimal supervision

Minimum Entry Qualifications

Bachelors degree in accounting/ business
