About the Role

A publicly listed company is incubating a new InsurTech initiative and seeking an experienced Vice President of Business to lead its U.S. life insurance market expansion. This role is ideal for a senior leader with deep knowledge of the American life insurance ecosystem and strong experience in agency/broker distribution channels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development and market expansion for the U.S. life insurance segment

  • Build strategic partnerships with life insurance carriers, MGAs, IMOs/FMOs, and independent agents

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies across product, distribution, and marketing

  • Establish and scale agency or brokerage networks from the ground up

  • Drive growth initiatives across the liability side and marketing side of the U.S. life insurance market

  • Collaborate with cross-border teams and support organizational setup in the U.S.

  • Represent the company in industry events and maintain strong relationships across the ecosystem

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in U.S. life insurance (carrier, brokerage, IMO/FMO, MGA, or agency background)

  • Deep understanding of the U.S. life insurance market, including distribution and regulatory frameworks

  • Strong experience in agent distribution systems or insurance brokerage operations

  • Proven track record in market expansion, partnership building, and business development

  • Fluent in English and Chinese; strong cross-cultural communication skills

  • Based in Silicon Valley or willing to relocate/travel frequently

  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required

  • Chinese American candidates strongly preferred
