Job Overview:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a compassionate and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. The Patient Care Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for our patients. This individual will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, handling patient inquiries, and coordinating care between patients and our audiologists. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly and ensure a welcoming environment. Handle patient inquiries, provide information on services, and address concerns.
- Appointment Scheduling:** Manage the scheduling of patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of the audiologists time while accommodating patients needs.
- Patient Records:** Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Insurance Coordination:** Verify patient insurance coverage, obtain necessary authorizations, and assist patients with billing inquiries.
- Pre-Visit Preparation:** Ensure that all necessary documentation and patient information is collected and organized prior to appointments.
- Patient Education:** Provide patients with information on hearing aids, treatment plans, and follow-up care as directed by the audiologist.
- Communication:** Serve as a liaison between patients, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure seamless communication.
- Office Administration:** Assist with general office tasks, such as answering phones, managing emails, and ordering supplies.
- Follow-Up Care:** Coordinate and schedule follow-up appointments, and ensure patients receive timely reminders.
- Patient Satisfaction:** Continuously monitor patient satisfaction and work to improve the patient experience.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in audiology or a related field.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software.
Knowledge of medical insurance processes and terminology.
Compassionate, patient-focused, and empathetic demeanor.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
