The base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 per year. Actual compensation is based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate; therefore, we may pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation also includes bonus.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Process Engineer role will be a combination of project work and delivering process engineering improvements. Primary responsibilities will be to drive out loss, support operations, and improve efficiencies on the production floor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead process and equipment improvement initiatives to help the facility reduce waste, improve quality, safety, eliminate loss, and limit downtime on the production lines
- Aid in measuring product quality and identifying process control strategies to reach targets
- Assist with technical training of operating teams to ensure consistent application of processes and effective use of problem solving
- Act as liaison between R&D and Operations in planning and coordinating plant tests, product commissioning runs, process changes, or implementing new processes
- Lead and ensure all phases of capital projects are delivered smoothly to the operation own front-end engineering, scope definition, chartering, factory acceptance, start-up management, CQV (Commissioning/Qualification/Verification), and training / transfer to operations
- Lead development of project cost estimates and manage projects to meet targets
- Drive resolution of technical issues within the team; ensure all engineering & code requirements are met
- Ensure organization stays current with applicable new technologies
- Own and organize all technical documents for the site (drawings, line layouts, P&ID, schematics, etc.)
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to work in a high-volume, fast-pace, complex environment
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to act
- Positive can-do mindset and attitude
- Ability to teach and lead others
- Can work off shift or weekends as needed
- Some travel may be required depending on projects
- Able to successfully collaborate with cross-functional team members
- Project management skills
- Managing vendors, contractors, and outside engineering firms
- Must understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices & food safety guidelines

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in engineering is required
- 3-5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with PLC's and Instrumentation preferred
- Continuous Improvement / Lean skills a plus
- Project Management experience preferred
