Industrial Machinery Mechanic

HOURS

6:00am-2:30pm, M-Th, Occasional Overtime and Weekends

Pay Range: $28.15-$32.75

Maintenance Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Following all safe practices throughout the plant including LOTO, utilizing proper PPE for the proper task, and familiarity with NFPA NEC 70E.
  • The ability to manually lift at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions.
  • Respond to Work Orders and line breakdowns, processing documentation of work and parts through CMMS.
  • Inspect electrical equipment and machinery, diagnose faulty operation, determine proper corrective action, document in CMMS, and make indicated repairs.
  • Assemble and install all types of new or repaired electrical circuits, systems, instrumentation, and equipment, including, but not limited to, motors, regulators, controllers, generators, switches, etc.
  • Inspect electrical equipment and machinery, diagnose faulty operation, determine proper corrective action, document in maintenance scheduling program, and make indicated repairs.
  • Read, comprehend, and make basic electrical prints and mark up for electrical installations.
  • Start, stop, maintain, and help install and repair generating and power distribution equipment.
  • Troubleshoot in-depth PLC, and other control system related problems and train/assist production technicians in accomplishing task.
  • Make out work orders, requisitions, inspection reports, time distribution, material usage, etc., and perform other clerical duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed.
  • Install and repair electrical conduit and cable, including connections, controls, grounding, etc.
  • Support process to control changes in the programmable systems.
  • Participate in controls upgrade projects and Capital Improvement projects for controls systems Identify and correct potential problems to prevent breakdowns and eliminate losses.
  • Fill in on the production line when needed to build your equipment operation knowledge and/or to keep the production line running.
  • Stand and walk at minimum 70% of the time, climbing stairs and ladders, standing on, and moving around on platforms, equipment, and concrete floors.
  • Maintain a clean work area and utilize Good Manufacturing Practices by following all quality specifications and performing quality inspections.
  • Use basic hand tools and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, drills, grinders, etc.
  • Demonstrate the correct sampling and testing procedures to monitor the wastewater system.
  • Ability to sample wastewater and water systems for outside lab analysis.
  • Ability to maintain the health of anaerobic and aerobic wastewater biological systems.
  • Ability to perform repair and maintenance on the water and wastewater systems.

Experience:

  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • 5-year minimum experience with repair and maintenance of electromechanical systems, and supporting preventative maintenance is desired.
  • 5-year minimum experience as an electrician.
  • Make meggar, voltmeter, ammeter, ground locating and other electrical tests. Possess working knowledge of electrical distribution systems and switchgear. Must know Underwriter codes, national codes, state and local codes, company rules and regulations and comply with them.
  • Keep current with the latest types of electrical controls, motors, AC/ DC Drives, (PLC) Programmable Logic Controllers, (HMI) Human Machine Interfaces and industrial lighting equipment.
  • Configure, commission, troubleshoot & start up any AC/ DC Drive, any (HMI) Human Machine Interface current, (PLC) Programmable Logic Controller, current and future.
  • Understanding of servos, encoders, linear actuators, pneumatically operated equipment, sensors.
  • Familiar with lubrication and lubrication systems, tools, and fasteners, and ability to train/assist others.
  • Proven ability to quickly and effectively trouble shoot and handle multiple priorities.
  • Water, air, steam, hydraulic, sanitary, and wastewater systems and over pressure protection.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment as well as with individual people (groups/one-on-one).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • The ability to work at heights.
  • The ability to execute both fine and gross motor hand movements.
  • The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment.
  • The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold).
