The ideal candidate has a strong track record in SEO, digital PR, and content marketing, with the ability to blend data-driven insights with storytelling to craft and execute impactful strategies. The selected candidate must have a deep understanding of Google News optimization, structured data, and search engine reputation management techniques to push down negative search results while boosting the presence of the founder and clients.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, requiring both technical SEO expertise and strategic PR acumen to drive meaningful results.

Key Responsibilities

1. SEO Strategy and Optimization

  • Conduct comprehensive SEO audits, identifying technical issues, keyword opportunities, and content gaps.

  • Optimize on-page elements, including metadata, schema markup, site structure, and Core Web Vitals.

  • Execute reputation-driven SEO strategies, suppressing negative search results through content ranking and link-building.

  • Optimize podcasts and thought leadership content for Google News and Discover visibility.

  • Implement keyword strategies to improve rankings for key terms, ensuring structured data for Google Podcast Manager and other platforms.

  • Ensure proper indexing and discoverability across search engines through structured metadata, proper sitemap management, and content tagging.

2. Reputation Management and Content Suppression

  • Develop and implement proactive and defensive SEO strategies to push down negative search results.

  • Optimize personal branding pages, social media profiles, and external assets for positive visibility.

  • Execute backlink-building strategies to reinforce positive content and enhance domain authority.

  • Identify opportunities for news features, guest articles, and PR placements that improve credibility and visibility.

3. Podcast and Thought Leadership SEO

  • Ensure podcast content is indexed properly on Google and ranked within Google News and Discover.

  • Optimize episode titles, descriptions, and transcripts to improve searchability and audience reach.

  • Develop content repurposing strategies, such as blogs, LinkedIn articles, and guest features, to extend podcast exposure.

  • Implement audio schema markup and structured metadata for increased podcast discoverability.

  • Secure backlinks and distribution on relevant industry websites to expand reach.

4. PR-Driven SEO and Digital Brand Authority

  • Secure media placements and thought leadership opportunities for enhanced digital presence.

  • Work alongside the creative and content teams to develop and execute PR-savvy campaigns that align with SEO goals.

  • Develop newsjacking and trend-based strategies to boost engagement and visibility.

  • Ensure alignment with Google’s E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) framework.

5. Reporting, Analytics, and Execution

  • Deliver weekly reports summarizing progress, search ranking improvements, and reputation management strategies.

  • Track search visibility, backlink growth, and Google News indexing rates with clear performance benchmarks.

  • Take full ownership of SEO implementation, ensuring timely execution of recommendations with measurable impact.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) First 60 Days

1. Google News and Search Visibility

  • Ensure at least three pieces of content are submitted to Google News, with one or more being accepted and featured.

  • Boost podcast visibility on Google Search and Discover through structured data and schema optimizations.

2. Reputation and Content Suppression

  • Successfully push at least two negative search results off the first page of Google.

  • Publish five or more pieces of positive content optimized for reputation management.

3. SEO Execution and Technical Improvements

  • Complete a full SEO audit and implement seventy-five percent of technical recommendations (site speed, schema updates, metadata optimizations).

  • Ensure proper setup and indexing of Google Publisher content for improved discoverability.

4. Content and Backlink Strategy

  • Publish six or more SEO-optimized pieces of content within sixty days.

  • Secure ten or more high-quality backlinks to reinforce brand authority and visibility.

Requirements and Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in SEO, digital PR, and reputation management.

  • Proven track record of increasing search rankings, managing reputation risks, and optimizing content for search engines.

  • Strong expertise in Google News, Google Discover, and Podcast SEO.

  • Experience with Google Publisher Center, content indexing, and structured data implementation.

  • Technical SEO proficiency, including schema markup, metadata, Core Web Vitals, and site architecture.

Skills and Tools
