About the job Credit Risk Manager
We are looking for an experienced Credit Risk Manager to strengthen our client's Risk function. This role is responsible for overseeing the Bank's risk management activities, providing objective challenge to business functions and ensuring the Bank operates within its approved risk appetite while meeting regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess key risk areas including credit, liquidity, operational, conduct and concentration risk.
- Support the ongoing development of the Bank's Risk Management Framework, policies and governance processes.
- Maintain and review the enterprise risk register, identifying emerging risks and regulatory developments.
- Monitor risk appetite metrics, KRIs and risk limits, escalating significant issues where required.
- Provide independent oversight and challenge to business risk assessments, controls and reporting.
- Review the effectiveness of risk management processes through thematic reviews and control testing.
- Analyse credit portfolio performance, including arrears, defaults, recoveries and concentration trends.
- Evaluate lending practices, underwriting standards and credit risk monitoring activities.
- Support the assessment and validation of credit risk methodologies, impairment models and provisioning approaches.
- Investigate operational risk events and support corrective actions.
- Prepare risk reports and management information for Senior Management and Board Committees.
- Assist with ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Planning, stress testing and capital adequacy assessments.
- Support regulatory inspections, internal audits and remediation programmes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Risk Management, Accounting or a related discipline.
- At least five years' experience within Banking Risk Management or a similar control function.
- Strong understanding of banking regulation and enterprise risk management.
- Experience in Credit Risk Oversight and Risk Reporting.
- Knowledge of Risk Appetite Frameworks, risk assessments and governance processes.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional qualifications such as FRM, CFA or PRM are advantageous.
- Experience with ICAAP, ILAAP, stress testing or regulatory reviews is beneficial.
