As a Junior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in supporting legal operations, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and safeguarding the company's intellectual property assets. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including licensing, partnership, and supplier contracts.
- Provide legal support on matters related to intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents, ensuring the protection and enforcement of IP assets.
- Monitor and advise on regulatory developments in the iGaming sector across various jurisdictions, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Development and Marketing, to provide legal guidance on new game launches and promotional activities.
- Support the Legal Counsel in managing external legal counsel and coordinating legal matters across the company's offices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law; admission to practice law in Malta or another EU jurisdiction is preferred.
- 13 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the iGaming, technology, or entertainment sectors.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in intellectual property law, including the management and enforcement of IP rights.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing the iGaming industry, particularly within the EU and MGA jurisdictions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
