We are looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Credit Risk Analytics Specialist to join our team's Risk team. This role is responsible for independently monitoring the Bank's credit risk profile, analysing portfolio performance, validating key risk information and supporting effective risk oversight through data-driven insights and reporting. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will help identify emerging risks, enhance reporting capabilities and contribute to sound risk management practices.
Responsibilities
- Independently monitor the Bank's retail credit portfolio, ensuring exposures remain within approved risk appetite and internal risk frameworks.
- Analyse portfolio performance by reviewing trends in arrears, defaults, recoveries, utilisation, delinquency and other key credit risk indicators.
- Validate and reconcile credit risk information from multiple data sources to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency.
- Review management information produced by the First Line of Defence, providing independent analysis and constructive challenge where appropriate.
- Prepare meaningful analytical reports and dashboards to support management, committees and senior decision-makers.
- Identify emerging risks, unusual portfolio trends and data quality issues, recommending appropriate actions where required.
- Review credit risk classifications, impairment assessments and provisioning outputs, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Support stress testing exercises, risk appetite monitoring, ICAAP activities and other regulatory risk management initiatives.
- Monitor the progress of agreed risk actions, ensuring recommendations are implemented within agreed timelines.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk reporting, portfolio analytics and credit risk monitoring processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Banking & Finance, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics or another quantitative discipline.
- Around 3–5 years' experience within Credit Risk, Credit Portfolio Analytics, Risk Reporting or a similar analytical role in banking.
- Experience working with retail lending portfolios, including credit cards or other unsecured lending products.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of data and identify meaningful risk trends.
- Experience using analytical and reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, SAS or Python.
- Good understanding of credit risk concepts including default, impairment, provisioning, loan staging, PD, LGD, EAD and IFRS 9.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and credit risk frameworks, including CRR/CRD and EBA Guidelines, would be considered an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to different stakeholders.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to independently assess information, challenge assumptions and recommend improvements.
