About the role

Trideca is seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join a high performing team within the Health space. 

As a Senior Android Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers and business analysts, to deliver innovative and scalable solutions within a fast-paced, Agile environment.

What you'll be doing

• Refactoring and modernising the Android codebase to support scalable, modular architecture and align with evolving engineering standards
• Developing and maintaining high-quality, native Android features using Kotlin, following clean architecture and modern design patterns (MVVM, Jetpack).
• Implementing robust unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and enable shift-left testing practices.
  
• Optimizing performance, maintainability, and codebase cleanliness ensuring legacy code is improved and technical debt is addressed proactively.
  
• Collaborating with the platform and enabling teams to define and roll out new engineering practices across Android projects.
  
• Driving adoption of modern Android development practices including modularisation, coroutines, dependency injection, and Jetpack libraries.
  
• Monitoring and debugging app performance using tools like NewRelic and Crashlytics, and continuously improve code quality via SonarQube.
  
• Working closely with designers and product owners to bring intuitive, pixel-perfect UI to life using Figma assets.
• Guiding junior developers and peers through code reviews and technical discussions, fostering a culture of learning and engineering excellence.

What were looking for

• Strong experience in native Android development with Kotlin.
  
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design and MVVM architecture.
  
• Confidence working with complex UI, networking, and threading.
  
• Familiarity with Android Jetpack (ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation), Coroutines, Dagger, RxJava.
  
• A passion for clean code, testing, refactoring, and leaving things better than you found them.
  
• A strong sense of ownership and pride in delivering high-quality work.
  
• A collaborative mindset you love working with cross-functional teams and sharing knowledge.
  
• Bonus: Experience with modularisation or transforming monolith apps into scalable architectures
