About Trideca

Trideca is Australia's trusted strategy, AI, and digital transformation partner - helping some of the nation's largest enterprises (including NAB, Suncorp, Optus, Medibank, and AGL) drive meaningful business impact through technology.

With offices in Melbourne and Sydney and projects spanning multiple industries, we thrive on solving complex challenges, delivering cutting-edge solutions, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

About the Role

Integration Engineers are the build engine of the squad. You design, configure and ship integration flows end-to-end: recipes in Workato, file transfers in MoveIT, API and event contracts, data mappings, error handling and observability. You pick up well-shaped backlog items from the Business Analyst and Tech Lead and turn them into working, tested integrations across a connected platform ecosystem of 10+ systems.

This is a hands-on build role, not an architect or advisory role. You are writing, testing and releasing integration code.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Integration Build

Build and configure integrations across a connected platform ecosystem including digital care management, ERP, and rostering and scheduling systems using Workato and MoveIT. Implement API and event contracts, data mappings, transformations, reference data handling, and error/retry logic to agreed specifications. Own integration stories end-to-end: design, build, unit and integration test, peer review, deployment and handover to QA. Contribute to the shared integration codebase and configuration; follow branching, review and release standards set by the Tech Lead. Troubleshoot issues in dev, test and production environments; triage incidents and apply fixes with clear root-cause notes.

Quality, Testing & Observability

Write and maintain automated test coverage for your integrations, partnering with the Automation QA Engineer on framework and patterns. Instrument integrations for monitoring, alerting and traceability; confirm observability is in place before handover. Contribute to non-functional work: idempotency, replay, back-pressure, rate limits, secrets handling and data validation. Participate in peer reviews; apply feedback and raise issues constructively.

Squad Delivery

Work in two-week sprints; pick up work from the prioritised backlog and close stories against clear acceptance criteria. Contribute to refinement and estimation sessions with the Business Analyst and Tech Lead; flag risk, sequencing and dependency issues early. Pair with the other Integration Engineer and the Tech Lead when complexity or knowledge transfer requires it. Keep documentation, runbooks and operational notes current as integrations are built and released.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with client Connected Technology engineers, system owners and third-party vendors to resolve technical questions and confirm interface details. Communicate progress, blockers and technical trade-offs clearly to the Tech Lead, BA and Squad Lead. Represent Trideca professionally inside the client squad; act as a partner embedded in the team, not an external vendor.

Essential Requirements

  • 4–8 years hands-on integration engineering experience on enterprise platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Workato or a comparable iPaaS (MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services, Celigo); able to build, test and operate recipes or flows in production.
  • Solid working knowledge of REST/JSON API design, event-driven patterns, pub/sub, request-reply, idempotency, retries and error handling.
  • Experience implementing integrations against ERP, scheduling or workforce systems; confident reading API specs and data models.
  • Demonstrated experience writing automated tests for integrations (unit, contract, integration) and working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with file-based and managed file transfer integrations; MoveIT or comparable MFT exposure is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in regulated environments (healthcare, financial services, insurance) with care for security, privacy and data quality.
  • Agile delivery experience: sprint-based work, backlog refinement, estimation, code review and release.
  • Strong written communication; clear commits, pull requests, runbooks and technical notes.
  • Australian-based, with full working rights. Able to work on-site in Melbourne or Sydney as required.
  • Experience using AI tools to streamline coding, review tasks and associated documentation.

Highly Desirable

  • Prior hands-on Workato and MoveIT delivery experience on production programmes.
  • Integration experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (APIs, events, common data patterns).
  • Experience integrating rostering, scheduling or workforce management platforms (e.g. Humanforce, Kronos, UKG, Deputy).
  • Background in aged care, home care, health insurance or broader healthcare services.
  • Experience working in embedded client squads or vendor-augmented engineering models.

Personal Attributes

  • Builder mindset - takes pride in shipping working, tested integrations and owning issues through to resolution.
  • Pragmatic and delivery-focused - makes progress with incomplete information and asks the right questions early.
  • Low-ego, high-trust operator who collaborates well inside a client squad.
  • Clear communicator, comfortable with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable with pace and a fixed MVP date; calm under pressure.
  • Responsive and follows through on commitments - trusted to deliver quality at pace.
  • Demonstrates delivery and execution discipline, keeps Jira and reporting accurate at all times.
