About the job BA - Integration
About Trideca
Trideca is a boutique technology and delivery consultancy partnering with some of Australia's most ambitious organisations. We embed senior talent inside client squads to deliver complex digital, data and integration programmes - fast, pragmatically, and with a very low-ego, high-trust operating style. We're growing rapidly and building a team of people who love solving hard problems, moving quickly, and delivering outcomes clients talk about for years.
About the Role
Trideca is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to serve as the requirements and integration-mapping anchor of an embedded delivery squad. You'll translate business outcomes into integration flows, confirm backlog and data contracts with the client's Connected Technology team, and keep the Tech Lead, Integration Engineers and Automation QA moving with clear, testable work.
You'll join in Sprint Zero alongside the Tech Lead to validate the existing documented requirements, close gaps, and shape the backlog. You are in, working, and delivering from Week 1.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Integration Mapping
Validate and extend the existing requirements base; identify gaps, ambiguities and rework; identify risks early and close them with system owners. Map end-to-end data flows across a connected platform ecosystem of 10+ systems — covering triggers, events, fields, transformations and error paths. Produce clear, testable integration specifications: API/event contracts, data mappings, field-level definitions, reference data, and acceptance criteria the squad can build and test against. Own the requirements artefacts through build, test and cutover, keeping them current as decisions are made. Recommend the use of AI to assist with the development and execution of captured requirements.
Backlog, Sprint & Squad Delivery
Partner with the Tech Lead to break integration work into right-sized backlog items; run refinement, estimation and sequencing alongside the squad. Lead requirements workshops and working sessions with client Connected Technology teams, system owners and third-party vendors. Confirm definition of ready and definition of done for integration stories, including test coverage expectations with the Automation QA Engineer. Track dependencies across 10+ connected systems and flag sequencing risk to the Tech Lead and Squad Lead.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Act as the primary requirements point of contact between Trideca's squad and the client's Connected Technology team. Translate trade-offs, risks and progress clearly for both engineering and non-technical stakeholders, including group architecture and Trideca leadership. Represent the squad in integration design forums and requirements reviews; capture decisions and drive them back into the backlog.
Quality & Assurance
Work closely with the Automation QA Engineer to confirm integration test coverage from day one; ensure acceptance criteria support automated verification. Support UAT planning and coordination with business owners; triage defects and change requests back into the backlog.
Essential Requirements
- 8+ years as a Business Analyst on enterprise integration or platform programmes.
- Proven track record analysing and mapping integrations across 5+ heterogeneous source and target systems — APIs, events, batch and file-based.
- Strong working knowledge of iPaaS and integration platforms (e.g. Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services) — able to read recipes or flows, understand connectors, and shape requirements that map cleanly to them.
- Hands-on experience producing API and event contracts, data mapping documents, sequence and state diagrams, and field-level specifications.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns: REST/JSON, event-driven, pub/sub, request-reply, idempotency, retries, error handling and reference data.
- Experienced running requirements workshops and technical working sessions with both business owners and integration engineers.
- Agile delivery experience — backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, and close collaboration with engineers, QA and business stakeholders.
- Australian-based, with full working rights. Able to work on-site in Melbourne or Sydney as required.
- Demonstrated ability to mobilise quickly and deliver against tight, fixed-date deadlines.
- Experience using AI tools to streamline BA tasks such as creating and reviewing documentation, requirements analysis and workflow mapping.
Highly Desirable
- Prior experience on Workato or MoveIT-based integration programmes.
- Integration BA experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (APIs, events, data model).
- Experience with rostering, scheduling and workforce management platforms (e.g. Humanforce, Kronos, UKG, Deputy).
- Prior experience in aged care, home care, health insurance or broader healthcare services - familiarity with clinical, care-delivery or funding data flows.
- Experience working in embedded client squads or vendor-augmented models, inside a client's engineering organisation.
Personal Attributes
- Pragmatic and delivery-focused - happy to make calls with incomplete information and move the squad forward.
- Low-ego, high-trust operator who can represent Trideca inside a client squad and act as a partner, not a vendor.
- Clear communicator who can move between deep technical detail and executive-level trade-off conversations. Explain trade-offs in terms of cost, speed, quality, and risk - not implementation detail.
- Comfortable operating at pace - lean start, fast scale, with a fixed MVP date.
- Strong ownership mindset: proactively manages requirements quality, risk and continuity of their work.
- Responsive and follows through on commitments - trusted to deliver quality at pace.
- Demonstrates delivery and execution discipline, keeps Jira and reporting accurate at all times.
