About the role

The Graph Specialist is a highly skilled professional responsible for designing, managing, and analyzing graph-based data systems and solutions. This role focuses on leveraging graph databases, graph algorithms, and network analysis to uncover relationships and patterns within complex datasets. The Graph Specialist plays a key role in developing scalable graph-based applications, solving domain-specific challenges, and enabling data-driven decision-making for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Graph Data Modeling and Design

• Design and implement graph data models to represent relationships and interactions in a given domain.
• Develop and maintain graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, TigerGraph, Amazon Neptune) to store and query connected data effectively.
• Optimize graph structures for scalability, performance, and ease of querying.

Data Analysis and Insights

• Apply graph analytics techniques (e.g., centrality, clustering, community detection, pathfinding) to uncover meaningful insights from data.
• Perform network analysis to understand relationships, dependencies, and patterns within datasets.
• Generate actionable insights to solve business problems such as fraud detection, recommendation systems, knowledge graph creation, or supply chain optimization.

Graph Algorithms and Optimization

• Implement and fine-tune graph algorithms to solve specific problems, such as shortest path, influence propagation, or graph embeddings.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate graph algorithms into AI/ML models.
• Optimize performance of graph queries and computations for large-scale datasets.

System Integration and Development

• Integrate graph-based solutions with enterprise systems, applications, and workflows.
• Build APIs and interfaces to enable seamless interaction with graph databases and tools.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security for graph-based applications.

Research and Innovation

• Stay current with advancements in graph technologies, tools, and frameworks.
• Explore emerging use cases for graph-based solutions in areas such as knowledge graphs, social network analysis, and graph neural networks.
• Experiment with new tools and approaches to push the boundaries of graph technology adoption.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, software developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver graph-based solutions.
• Present findings, visualizations, and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on graph-related topics.

Essential requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience working with graph databases, network analysis, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with graph database technologies (e.g., Neo4j, TigerGraph, Amazon Neptune, ArangoDB).
• Experience in applying graph analytics in real-world use cases such as fraud detection, knowledge graphs, or social network analysis.
• Strong understanding of graph theory, graph data structures, and graph algorithms.
• Proficiency in query languages like Cypher, Gremlin, or SPARQL.
• Expertise in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala, particularly for graph-related libraries and frameworks (e.g., NetworkX, GraphFrames).
• Familiarity with machine learning models and their integration with graph-based features.
• Strong data visualization skills, especially for graph visualizations (e.g., Gephi, D3.js, or Cytoscape).
