About role
We are looking for a full stack engineer to join a small delivery squad focused on quick wins and incremental enhancements. The groundwork is done – designs, requirements, and existing patterns are all in place – so this role is about execution, not greenfield design. The stack is React on the front end and Java on the back end, with the work leaning more toward backend development. Experience with AEM is a nice-to-have but not essential.
This person is the first engineer into new squad, so were after someone who's comfortable picking up existing code and shipping improvements quickly, without needing everything re-designed or over-documented.
What you'll be doing
- Building and enhancing existing features using React and Java
- Working on backend services and APIs, with front-end work as needed
- Implementing changes based on clearly defined requirements and completed designs
- Making small, targeted improvements to performance, reliability, and usability
- Working closely with product and delivery to get work shipped quickly
- Contributing clean, maintainable code that fits established patterns
What were looking for
- Solid experience as a full stack engineer (mid-level is perfect)
- Strong Java backend experience (Spring or similar)
- Good working knowledge and experience in React
- Comfortable working in an existing codebase and extending current functionality
- Able to work independently and keep momentum without a lot of hand-holding
- Practical mindset – focused on delivery rather than architecture debates
Nice to have
- Exposure to AEM or content-driven platforms
- Experience working in small squads focused on incremental delivery
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices
What this role is not
- Not a solution design or architecture role
- Not greenfield build work
- Not a super senior or lead position
