JOB SUMMARY / SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. The Head of Risk Management Department reviews and pre-approves risk assessments (that will identify potential risks) to be conducted for the Bank. All activities shall be presented to and approved by the Audit/ Risk and Compliance Committee (ARC).
  1. Results of all risk assessments shall be evaluated (with possible preventive and/or mitigating strategies and/or solutions) and reported back to ARC.

  1. The Head of Risk Management Department shall ensure that all necessary policies and procedures of his/her own department are in place.
  1. Also reviews and pre-approves other policies and procedures and manuals of the Bank prior to endorsement to the Executive Management Committee; to ensure that all other risks are prevented or mitigated in the Banks operations.

  1. The Head of Risk Management Department shall ensure that all employees are aware of the risks associated with their daily operations and transactions; and that they are aware when and to whom they will report potential risks that may occur or may already have occurred.

  1. While ensuring that the risk measures and controls are in place, the Head of Risk Management Department Head shall also comply with the rules and regulations of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and as aligned with the ARCs goals and objectives for the Bank.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSILIBITIES:

  1. Management
  1. Oversee the staff and officers of their day-to-day operations and key activities.
  1. Regularly conduct performance assessment of staff and officers or as scheduled by the Bank.
  1. Ensure all approved key activities especially the risk assessments are done on time.
  1. Attend and participate in management meetings as required by the President and CEO or the Executive Management Committee.
  1. Conduct or ensure continuous learning and development of the staff and officers for career growth.
  1. Raise concerns and/or improvements of the department to the President and CEO or to the Executive Management Committee.

  1. Operations
  1. Develop short-term and long-term strategies for RMD, establishes goals, and assesses performance against these goals.
  1. Oversee the development, review, update, and dissemination of risk management policies & procedures concerning credit, interest rate, liquidity & operations risk, guided by BASELs risk management framework which includes risk identification, measurement, control, and monitoring.

i. Review, provide recommendations or inputs to other departments policies and procedures; and manuals before endorsing to the Executive Management Committee and ARC.

  1. Present/report relevant risk information to the ARC.
  1. Propose improvements or modifications to existing internal controls to the ARC.
  1. Represent RMD in risk management-related projects, meetings, workgroups, and forums within and outside the Bank.
  1. Continuous research advancements and best practices in risk management for potential implementation in the Bank.
  1. Engage with the Board of Directors, heads of various divisions/offices of the Bank, and liaisons at BSP and peer banks on matters related to risk management.
  1. Provide risk management education and awareness through lectures.

  1. Monitoring and Reporting
  1. Regularly report risk assessment results with possible preventive or mitigating strategies or solutions to ARC and/or to the Board of Directors.
  1. Consistently monitor on time risk assessment activities.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

Education

: Must possess at least a Bachelor/College Degree in Computer Science, Management Information System, Statistics, Business Studies or equivalent.

Experience

: With 8-10 years of extensive experience in the same capacity or relevant position.

Others

: With high level of reliability and integrity required. Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills. With good morale, conduct and work ethics.

Seminars

: Has attended seminars on Credit, Interest Rate, Liquidity & Operational

risk management.
