Job Overview
The Credit Review Associate (Credit Reviewer) is responsible for conducting independent detailed reviews of approved credit applications, loan accounts, and related documentation on a sampling basis. The role ensures compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, best practice, and risk management objectives. Also, identifies credit risks and provides actionable recommendations to improve credit quality and credit risks.
Key Responsibilities
A. Loan & Credit Review
- Evaluate borrowers' creditworthiness and repayment capacity by analyzing credit reports, financial statements, cashflows, and other supporting documents.
- Ensure apt computation of financial evaluations considering the circumstances of the credit exposure.
- Verify alignment of loan agreements, terms, and conditions with documented approvals.
- Analyze repayment behavior to identify trends, early warning signs, and repayment risks.
- Assess loan collectability based on borrower history, financial capacity, and market conditions.
- Recommend classifications and provisioning based on qualitative assessments of risk profiles.
- Identify gaps in underwriting, approval, monitoring, relationship management, & credit administration processes.
- Assess compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory standards, and best practices.
- Propose adjustments to credit classifications and provisions of allowance for credit losses based on review results.
B. Communication, Reporting & Documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams to address gaps or deficiencies in credit files and reports.
- Prepare credit review reports, summarizing findings, exceptions, and areas for improvement.
- Recommend enhancements to lending practices, credit risk management, and credit review process.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of credit review and related documentation.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and board-level committees as required.

Qualification Guidelines:
Education
:
Must hold a bachelors degree in business or a related field, preferably with an analytical focus such as any of the following: Banking, Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.
Certification/s and Trainings
:
Professional certifications in risk management are an advantage but not mandatory. With Seminars or Trainings related to risk management attended (e.g., financial analysis) is preferred but not required.
Experience
:
The candidate should have a familiarity with and good understanding of lending operations in the context of a bank or other financial institution; with a minimum of 2 years of experience or knowledge in either credit review; risk management; or closely related functions.
