Position Summary
Traub Lieberman Straus & Shrewsberry is seeking a Litigation Defense Associate (4-6 years) for its downtown Chicago office. Job responsibilities include independent case management, conducting discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, research and analysis, client reporting, time entry, and appearances at case management conferences, mediations, pre-trial settlement conferences, and depositions.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated insurance defense experience, including conducting depositions and attending court appearances.
The successful candidate must be a well-organized self-starter and able to manage tasks and deadlines independently, while keeping key stakeholders informed of case status. Our Chicago office offers a flexible work environment with remote workdays. The office regularly plans optional social functions to foster team engagement and connectivity.
Traub Lieberman offers a collaborative team environment and maintains an active training program to promote professional growth. As a member of our team, the attorney will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and work closely with partners who are invested in their professional development and growth.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in Illinois.
- 4-6 years of insurance defense litigation experience
- Strong writing, research, and communication skills.
Additional consideration will also be given to candidates admitted in Michigan, Indiana, and/or Wisconsin.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $160,000, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
In addition to the base salary, attorneys are eligible to participate in the firm's Associate Bonus Program. This program is performance-based, and bonuses are awarded at the firm's discretion.
