Position Summary

Traub Lieberman's St. Petersburg, Florida office is seeking an experienced, on-site IT Support Specialist to join our IT team. In this role, you will provide on-site support to attorneys and staff in the St. Petersburg office while also offering remote support to our nationwide offices. You will respond to end-user service requests, assist with adding, moving, and changing user accounts and workstations, and address issues with firm systems such as printers, phones, and audio-visual (AV) equipment. Additionally, you will provide application support and participate in various projects related to the firm's overall infrastructure.

IT Support Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues, delivering outstanding customer service through phone, email, and in-person support.
  • Deploy and configure new computers and software, set up accounts in Active Directory and other essential applications, and provide training to users on system functionality.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of tickets, issues, and troubleshooting steps in the IT service management system.
  • Become a subject matter expert on internal systems and applications, maintaining and updating internal documentation.
  • Perform hardware, software, and networking equipment maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provide end-user support for applications, operating systems, and troubleshooting of technical issues.
  • Monitor servers, network connectivity, phone systems, virus protection, and other security technologies to ensure system integrity and availability.
  • Participate in an on-call support rotation and be available for occasional evening or weekend work to assist with after-hours system updates or changes.
  • Collaborate with Managed Service Providers (MSP) on the implementation and ongoing support of new hardware, software, and system upgrades.
  • Report system issues to the MSP and assist with their resolution.
  • Set up domains, application logins, email accounts, and devices for new employees.
  • Provide onboarding support, including in-person and remote software training sessions for new hires.
  • Maintain disaster recovery documentation for the St. Petersburg location and ensure all relevant systems are backed up and recoverable.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of client and company information in all IT activities.
  • Contribute to the security and reliability of client systems and firm-wide infrastructure.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall functionality of the IT department.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proven experience with Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10, 11), Microsoft Office applications (including Office 365), Server 2019, and Active Directory.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging PC, mobile, and tablet technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Extensive experience providing application support, particularly within a legal environment.
  • Strong multitasking, time management, and prioritization abilities with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and end-users.
  • Goal-oriented, organized, and a collaborative team player, comfortable in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
  • Microsoft certifications or other relevant IT certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ConnectWise), VoIP systems, Avaya phone systems, and software such as iManage, Worldox, SQL Server, Active Directory, Azure, SharePoint, and InTune.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell or other similar technologies.
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and tools, and contribute suggestions for improving existing systems and workflows.
  • Basic understanding of network troubleshooting, including knowledge of gateways, subnets, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi security, network adapters, routers, and access points.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security tools such as antivirus, encryption, and other related technologies.
  • Proficiency with audio/visual conferencing tools, specifically Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in IT support or a similar role is required.
  • Experience in a law firm environment preferred.
