Project Engineering Manager — Grayson, Kentucky
Our client, a food manufacturing operation based in Grayson, Kentucky, is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to lead capital and facility improvement projects across the plant. This is a site-level leadership role with direct impact on operational efficiency, safety, and long-term infrastructure. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute capital improvement and facility projects from concept through completion
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to align project scope with production requirements
- Develop project budgets, timelines, and resource plans; track progress and report to plant leadership
- Manage relationships with contractors, equipment vendors, and engineering firms
- Ensure all projects comply with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
- Lead root cause analysis and implement engineering solutions to address recurring operational or equipment issues
- Support capacity expansion, line upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
- Mentor and develop project engineering staff where applicable
Qualifications
- Background in food manufacturing is required
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor oversight
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and GMP environments
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline preferred
- Effective communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- PMP certification or equivalent experience is a plus
