CNC Programmer / Technician — Iowa City, Iowa

Transparent Search Group is conducting a search on behalf of a manufacturing client in the Iowa City area seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Technician to join their production team. This is a hands-on technical role suited to a candidate who is comfortable both programming and operating CNC equipment in a precision manufacturing environment. This position is open to local candidates only; relocation assistance is not available.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify CNC programs for lathe and mill operations using CAD/CAM software
• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines to meet production specifications and tolerances
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Perform routine inspection of finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy
• Troubleshoot programming errors and machine issues to minimize downtime
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes
• Maintain documentation of programs, setups, and process changes
• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized shop environment

Qualifications

• Demonstrated CNC programming experience in a manufacturing setting
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software
• Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes and mills
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Effective communication and the ability to work within a team environment
• Associate degree or technical certification in machining or a related field preferred
