Our client is a global, matrixed manufacturer of engineered products serving multinational OEM customers in on-road and off-road markets.

The Role

The Director of Sales is accountable for the direction, management and growth of North American sales. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, you will drive revenue growth, profitability and market expansion across North America in line with global strategy, lead the sales and account management team, and coordinate closely with Engineering, Product Management and Operations.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop a team of sales and account management professionals, including On-Road and Off-Road Market Managers, Account Management and Customer Relations.
  • Identify and execute profitable growth opportunities by market segment, application and customer, using market dynamics, competitive positioning and pricing strategy.
  • Manage and expand relationships with key OEM customers and strategic accounts across engineering, purchasing and executive leadership, increasing share of wallet and preferred-supplier status.
  • Work with global counterparts to align strategies, customers and market approaches.
  • Align product offerings with market needs alongside Engineering, Product Management and Operations, within product development and quality processes.
  • Monitor product and account profitability in North America, and lead corrective action such as pricing changes, cost reduction or product rationalization when needed.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence to support strategic planning, product development and investment decisions.
  • Maintain a strong market presence through customer visits, industry events and trade organizations.
  • Put the right resources, processes and systems in place for effective sales execution.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Engineering, Business, Marketing or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 8-12+ years in business development, strategic sales or global account management
  • Experience with multinational OEM customers in a manufacturing or engineered products environment
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-regional business opportunities and managing nationwide accounts
  • Experience setting expectations and goals for a sales team
  • Willingness to travel
