BPS Director (Accounting & Payroll)

Location: Bucharest, Romania (onsite)

As a Senior Manager / BPS Director, you will have direct responsibility for the Accounting & Payroll departments, managing people, processes, and client delivery. You will serve as the bridge between technical accounting expertise and leadership responsibilities, ensuring both client satisfaction and team growth.

You will be part of our top management team, reporting directly to the CEO and contributing to strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical & Client Work

  • Ensure high-quality accounting & payroll services for international clients.

  • Review and approve deliverables prepared by supervisors and consultants.

  • Draft and maintain internal procedures and best practices.

  • Act as point of escalation for complex cases.

2. Team Leadership

  • Manage a team of ~14 staff (supervisors, accounting consultants, payroll consultants).

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.

  • Allocate resources and distribute client portfolios.

  • Monitor and address staff turnover.

  • Ensure accuracy of timesheets for client billing.

3. Business & Management

  • Represent Accounting & Payroll in top management meetings.

  • Support collaboration with HR, Legal, Tax, and Audit teams.

  • Travel occasionally between offices in Romania.

Candidate Profile

Must-Haves:

  • Strong background in Accounting.

  • 10+ years in accounting, ideally within consulting or professional services.

  • Proven leadership experience (Accounting Manager or higher).

  • CECCAR certification 

  • Strong technical skills in MS Excel (intermediate).

  • English proficiency (intermediate+).

  • Digital literacy and ability to adapt to accounting systems
