QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network and system administration.
  • Experience working with both internal IT infrastructure and external client environments is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Solid knowledge of IP networks, including routing, switching, subnetting, and VLANs.
  • Hands-on experience with configuring and administering:
    • Linux servers and services (e.g. DNS, DHCP, mail)
    • Networking devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
    • VPN and remote access solutions
    • Backup and recovery systems
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining:
    • Server applications
    • Access control and monitoring systems
    • SSL certificates and domain management
  • Experience with telecom systems and VoIP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira for task tracking and reporting.
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge (e.g. Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.

Security & Compliance

  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience in implementing and managing firewall policies and access rights.
  • Knowledge of IT compliance, software licensing, and user access audits.

Language Requirements

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Romanian language skills are an advantage if the work environment is bilingual.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Network and Infrastructure Management

  • Design, configure, secure, and maintain the company's internal and external IP network infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and administer Linux servers, routers, switches, and telecom equipment.
  • Extend and modify the physical network infrastructure (e.g. cabling, patching).
  • Ensure proper functioning and connectivity of network and communication equipment.
  • Configure and maintain access control systems and VPN infrastructure.
  • Monitor and maintain SSL certificates across systems.
  • Supervise and document network access permissions.

IT Security and Compliance

  • Develop and implement IT and network security policies, including firewall configurations.
  • Monitor and protect network data traffic and ensure secure internet usage.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing policies and maintain software inventory.
  • Periodically verify installed software and user access on all workstations.
  • Delete or restrict access rights when employees leave the company.
  • Maintain monthly access logs and VPN user reports.

Systems Administration and Backup

  • Administer and maintain email, DNS, storage, backup, and server services.
  • Create and maintain backup plans for company data and verify data integrity regularly.
  • Ensure all critical system incidents are resolved within 24 hours.
  • Maintain and update internal applications and tools as needed (e.g. devtracker, SAGA).
  • Configure and update server-based applications and software modules.

User Support and Onboarding

  • Install and prepare computing equipment for employees and provide user training.
  • Create and manage access accounts for new employees (email, apps, licenses).
  • Provide technical support to internal users and ensure operational functionality of basic tools.
  • Maintain user documentation and provide assistance for incident resolution.

Vendor and Client Coordination

  • Collaborate with telecom, internet, and external service providers to resolve issues.
  • Provide expert advice for IT equipment acquisition and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Configure and maintain server networks for external clients.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving customer issues (e.g. Gateway LoRa antennas).

Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation

  • Monitor network, systems, and tasks using internal tools (e.g. monitoring systems, Jira).
  • Document and track technical tasks, reporting time spent on each in Jira.
  • Periodically review task progress and report anomalies or delays to management.
