Linux Systems Engineer

Required Experience & Skills:

• Solid experience (minimum 3 years) in configuring, implementing, and maintaining server-based Linux systems, either on-premise or in the cloud.
• Strong ability to work well within a team.
• A sense of humor is always welcome! :)

Mandatory Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of Linux.
• TCP/IP networking.
• Experience with scripting (Shell scripting).

Additional (Nice to Have) Skills:

• Familiarity with Ubuntu.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, Proxmox VE).
• Knowledge of Logical Volume Management (LVM).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in:
  • Orchestration and management of microservices.
  • Monitoring with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Automation (Ansible).
  • Configuring firewalls (Iptables).
• Knowledge of:
  • Distributed storage solutions (Ceph).
  • IT infrastructure management using HPE OneView.
  • Cloud platforms, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP), but also AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with:
  • Version control (Git).
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
  • CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid networking knowledge: VPN tunnels, DNS, routing.
• Understanding of security mechanisms, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience in systems programming and scripting, using languages like Go or Python.
• Interest in Agile values, continuous improvement, and iterative development.
• Desire to contribute to automation and building a self-service platform for development teams.
