Department: Group IT / Infrastructure / Operations

Role Objective:
The System Engineer is responsible for the planning, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems and infrastructures. They ensure stable, secure, and high-performance IT operations and contribute to the further development of the system architecture.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Planning, installation, and configuration of servers, networks, and storage systems
  • Administration of M365 and Windows on-premises systems
  • Application support and point of contact for the Service Desk (e.g., ERP, VoIP, PowerBI, MDM, file server, password server, asset management, monitoring)
  • Ensuring system availability, performance, and security
  • Execution of system updates, patches, and backups
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting of systems and networks
  • Documentation of IT infrastructure and processes
  • Participation in IT projects (e.g., migrations, cloud integration, automation)
  • Collaboration with other IT teams, service providers, and business departments

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in computer science or a comparable qualification (e.g., IT specialist for system integration)
  • Several years of professional experience in system administration or IT infrastructure
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), network technologies, and IT security
  • Experience with cloud platforms is an advantage
  • Knowledge of automation (e.g., PowerShell) desirable
  • Strong analytical thinking, structured working style, and problem-solving skills
  • Good command of German
