Maintenance Manager

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager will oversee the maintenance department, ensuring that all machinery and equipment operate efficiently to support production. This role is critical to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance, leadership experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the maintenance team, ensuring timely and effective maintenance of all equipment and machinery
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Manage maintenance budgets, including the procurement of parts and equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with other departments to support production needs and company goals
  • Other related duties as required

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred but not necessary.
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal certification or Journeyman Certificate in a relevant trade is an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
