Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Millwright to join their maintenance team Calgary. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment through advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced millwright looking to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on production and packaging equipment, including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical systems.
- Lead the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Conduct detailed inspections of machinery and systems to identify potential issues and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and schedule repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and repair logs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior maintenance staff.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- Assist in managing inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Millwright ticket or equivalent certification or experience.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and rotating equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
