About the job RFP & Marketing Writer
We are seeking an RFP & Marketing Writer for a full-time and direct hire role for one of our amazing partners in California. This is a fully remote role, and you can be based anywhere in the US.
They are a high-growth technology company that is small but expanding rapidly. They need a proactive, detail-driven RFP & Marketing Writer that will play a crucial part in their growth. They are seeking a proactive, detail-driven RFP & Marketing Writer who can shape their messaging in competitive RFPs, while also coming up with engaging marketing content, sales enablement collateral, and thought leadership pieces.
Responsibilities:
- You will produce winning RFP responses and own the full proposal process from start to finish. That includes researching RFP requirements, crafting persuasive content, and revising submissions based on feedback.
- You will ensure that every proposal speaks directly to client needs, while showing professional credibility and meeting strict deadlines.
- Develop persuasive marketing materials to elevate marketing content. This includes website copy, social media posts, email campaigns, and promotional brochures that align with their brand voice.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to unlock insights that inform more compelling, and audience-focused storytelling.
- You will drive sales enablement & collateral by creating high-impact sales decks, one-pagers, case studies, and product briefs that empower the sales team to close deals.
- You will partner with Business Development and Sales stakeholders to refine the messaging, highlight unique value propositions, and stay ahead of market trends.
- You should be a thought leader & help come up with editorial strategies by leading editorial planning and content calendars for blog posts, whitepapers, LinkedIn articles, and other external publications.
- Position company as an industry authority by blending research, trend analysis, and compelling storytelling in each piece.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of proven experience writing RFP proposals for government agencies or similar formal procurements.
- 8+ years supporting C-level executives or senior/managing partners in high-performance settings.
- Experience in the background check industry is a plus.
- Proven super high RFP proposal win rates with the ability to craft thorough, deadline-compliant submissions.
- Experience creating sales enablement tools such as sales decks, one-pagers, and product briefs.
- Experience with thought leadership initiatives like blog posts, whitepapers, and external publications is highly desired.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex data into straightforward language.
- Solid understanding of MS Office and a willingness to learn new collaboration or writing tools, including generative AI tools.
- Flexibility to do marketing & sales collateral writing.
- Ability to navigate through the RFP portal with little to no direction.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (required for government contracts).
- Strong grasp of communication and marketing principles, including audience engagement, persuasive messaging, and brand continuity.
- Persuasive storytelling skills to transform complex or technical information into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with both expert and general audiences.
- Detail-obsessed writing from grammar to brand consistency, so you always ensure accuracy and clarity in every sentence.
- Creative adaptability for both formal RFP responses and social media campaigns. You should tailor your style and tone to match each platform and target audience.
- Forward thinking to anticipate future challenges or content gaps and propose solutions, adding value at every step.
- The ability to collaborate, communicate and gather insights from multiple teams like Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to sharpen the quality of your writing and boost cross-functional success.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure without losing focus or sacrificing quality while you are juggling multiple deadlines and channels.
