We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Renal Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. As a Renal RN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with kidney-related conditions, including those undergoing dialysis, kidney transplants, or managing chronic kidney disease (CKD). Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
Provide comprehensive, individualized care to patients with renal disorders, including performing assessments, administering treatments, and educating patients and families about kidney disease, dialysis, medications, and lifestyle modifications. - Dialysis:
Administer hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments, monitor patient response, and adjust treatment parameters as needed. Ensure proper functioning of dialysis equipment and promptly address any issues. - Patient Monitoring:
Monitor patients vital signs, lab results, and dialysis treatments to identify complications such as fluid overload, infection, or electrolyte imbalances. Report any abnormal findings to the physician. - Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families on renal disease management, including diet modifications, fluid restrictions, medications, and the importance of regular follow-up appointments. - Collaboration:
Work closely with nephrologists, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, including assessments, care plans, treatment responses, and discharge instructions. Ensure compliance with regulatory and facility standards. - Emergency Care:
Respond to patient emergencies, including dialysis complications, and initiate appropriate interventions while ensuring patient safety. - Advocacy:
Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care and their rights and needs are respected.
Requirements:
- Education & Certification:
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
- Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN) or willingness to obtain within a specified time frame preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with at least 1 years in a renal, dialysis, or nephrology setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of renal disease, dialysis techniques, and pharmacology related to kidney care.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
