Sales Manager

An established international food export business is seeking a commercially driven Sales Manager to lead sales growth and strengthen its presence within the South African market. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a strong background in the protein/meat industry and an established network of key industry contacts.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, developing strategic customer relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and increasing market share across retail, wholesale, and food service sectors. This role requires someone who is commercially astute, customer-focused, and capable of identifying profitable opportunities within a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales strategies to drive sustainable business growth.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities across retail, wholesale, and food service markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
• Manage the full sales pipeline from prospecting through to successful delivery.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and customer demand to identify growth opportunities.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure efficient product supply and exceptional customer service.
• Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and market insights to support business decisions.

Minimum Requirements

• 3-7 years of sales management experience
• 2+ years of experience in the food commodity, protein, or beef industry
• Proven success in business development
• Strong negotiation skills
• Relationship management skills
• Commercial acumen
• Ability to engage with senior decision-makers
• Willingness to travel throughout South Africa and occasionally within the Southern African region
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, or a related field (advantageous)
