DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all aspects of the lighting department in a 24/7 live studio environment
  • Ensure smooth operations and coordinate with studio directors, producers, and technical teams to align lighting strategies with production goals
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to enhance performance and maintain high standards
  • Work closely with studio directors, producers, and technical departments to integrate lighting strategies with overall production objectives
  • Supervise and support senior lighting technicians and departmental staff
  • Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations while fostering a positive work environment
  • Manage stock levels to ensure smooth production, often under tight deadlines
  • Focus on innovation and collaboration with other departments to deliver top-quality results
  • Ensure lighting operations adhere to safety regulations and industry standards
  • Maintain and update departmental records, including equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and operational reports
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex lighting and equipment issues.
  • Report to the director in Bucharest on performance and significant department issues
  • Stay informed about industry trends to continually improve operations and equipment.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Proven experience in a managerial role within a live studio or similar environment, with a strong background in lighting operations
    • Extensive knowledge of studio lighting equipment, control systems, and techniques
    • Strong understanding of safety standards and best practices for live studio operations
    • Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams, providing mentorship, and offering performance feedback
    • Skilled at motivating and guiding a diverse team
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems under pressure, meeting tight deadlines effectively
    • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to report to senior management, collaborate across departments, and develop policies to enhance efficiency
    • Highly proactive with a focus on innovation and collaboration
    • Flexible to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, to support the 24/7 studio operation
    • Relevant technical certification or degree in lighting design, electrical engineering, or a related field.
