DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all aspects of the lighting department in a 24/7 live studio environment
- Ensure smooth operations and coordinate with studio directors, producers, and technical teams to align lighting strategies with production goals
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to enhance performance and maintain high standards
- Work closely with studio directors, producers, and technical departments to integrate lighting strategies with overall production objectives
- Supervise and support senior lighting technicians and departmental staff
- Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations while fostering a positive work environment
- Manage stock levels to ensure smooth production, often under tight deadlines
- Focus on innovation and collaboration with other departments to deliver top-quality results
- Ensure lighting operations adhere to safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintain and update departmental records, including equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and operational reports
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex lighting and equipment issues.
- Report to the director in Bucharest on performance and significant department issues
- Stay informed about industry trends to continually improve operations and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within a live studio or similar environment, with a strong background in lighting operations
- Extensive knowledge of studio lighting equipment, control systems, and techniques
- Strong understanding of safety standards and best practices for live studio operations
- Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams, providing mentorship, and offering performance feedback
- Skilled at motivating and guiding a diverse team
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems under pressure, meeting tight deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to report to senior management, collaborate across departments, and develop policies to enhance efficiency
- Highly proactive with a focus on innovation and collaboration
- Flexible to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, to support the 24/7 studio operation
- Relevant technical certification or degree in lighting design, electrical engineering, or a related field.
